Objective: This study sought to evaluate the demographics as well as clinical, audiometric, and surgical outcomes of patients who underwent endoscopic and microscopic stapedotomies.

Methods: This study enrolled 87 otosclerosis patients who underwent endoscopic and microscopic stapedotomies.

Results: In total, 44 and 43 surgeries were performed using an endoscope and a microscope, respectively. No significant difference was noted in the air–bone gaps of the cohort before or after the procedures (P=.611). Both procedures resulted in similar audiometric outcomes. The mean operative time was more significant in the last 22 patients of the endoscopic group than in the first 22 patients and patients who underwent microscopic stapedotomy (P=.027 and P=.018, respectively).

Conclusions: Endoscopic stapedotomy exhibits a learning curve similar to that of other procedures. Patient outcomes were similar between the endoscopic and microscopic procedures.
