The anatomo-clinical method applied to ENT at the time of Jean Cruveilhier. This paper evokes the personality of Jean Cruveilhier, presenting an overview of ENT pathology as reconstructed on the basis of his atlas: “The pathology of the human body” (1829-1842). We look at the anatomo-clinical method and paint a broad picture of medicine as practised in Paris during the first half of the 19th century (Figures 1,2).
